Michael Beals began his legal career in 1986, focusing his practice on corporate organization, corporate and business planning and transactions, real estate, and trust and estate planning.  He provides  counsel for established enterprises as well as start up ventures.  He also works extensively on business succession plans.  In 1991, he established his firm, Michael J. Beals, P.C., and in 1999 co-founded Beals Hubbard P.L.C.

Mike has become an area-wide expert in corporate organization, business transactions, and succession planning.  Throughout his career, he has been retained to develop creative solutions to complex corporate, business and commercial matters.  His work includes structuring, negotiating and drafting corporate organization and succession plans, and matters involving contract and equity relationships, business growth and strategic plan development, purchase and sale and commercial transactions.  Mike brings a combination of legal and business management skills to assist entrepreneurs build the proper foundation to grow their business.  Mike insists that lawyers at Beals Hubbard think not just as attorneys but as partners with the client to understand and meet their needs and objectives.  This type of thinking, combined with his emphasis on building long term relationships, results in consistent value delivered to the client.

  • Routinely working with local business brokers in closing purchase and sales of small business in retail and service industries
  • Regularly representing buyers and sellers in commercial real estate and lease transactions
  • Numerous joint venture and buy-sell transactions between physicians and physician practice management companies
  • Planning and documentation of succession planning for family owned and operated small and mid market businesses
  • Recent negotiation of successful joint development agreement between local technology entrepreneur and large tire manufacturer
